christmas time

Here I will share with you the Christmas events of the Telschow household.  It has been quite lovely and busy with all of our members in attendance.

High school brothers performed in their Christmas concert.  Here they are with their show choir.  Lewis is the Grinch and Zachary is right under him holding him up.  Those both were so fantastic.  I love watching them perform.
It snowed, and the pups played.  But now the snow has melted away and it's 53 degrees.  Which means its warm enough for those pups to go on a w-a-l-k.
Here is the dessert table at the Tribune Christmas party.  Mr. Aessa is sitting amongst them.  There were many sweet things to eat.
One of dad's beautiful cheesecakes...deserving of its own picture for sure.
The big counter was full of food.  I do believe we had about 120 attendees this year.  The most I've witnessed.

Zachary wrestled, and won, but we thought the meet was away and it was home so we ended up missing his match.  But we did get to cheer for everyone else and Sam got to spar with Zachary a little afterward.  There is nothing like cheering with the whole family present.
I improvised a tree with a few twigs from the lilac bush in the front yard.  Apparently you can't buy a Christmas tree two days before Christmas.  Hmmm.  The nativity had a few extra attendees.

Decorations were all the ones we made in elementary school and fiberous ones I threw on.  A few buttons, a garland of felt scraps, and green yarn did the trick.

All eight of us went caroling and cookie delivering.  It was a lot fun, but it was quite difficult to mask my voice amongst a mainly male chorus.  Oh, well.  We started with our immediate neighbors, sang to the Bailey's outside town, drove to Nappanee to sing to friends and family, came back to Wakarusa (got in a good round of Happy Birthday for Eli), and headed out to Goshen to sing to a cousin.  And then we ran out of cookies.
Stella got a festive red crocheted collar to wear for the holidays.  It has a bow on the other side.  She and Samuel were totally ready for Christmas morning.
Our cousin Justin, between Zachary and Jason, joined us for Christmas because his family was in Australia visiting his father's family.  Justin had to finish the school year up and now he is on his way to join his family and will stay in Australia until he comes back to graduate in May.
Josiah, despite being up half the night with the flu (ick), was still quite excited about his new towel.  Thanks Sam.
Those awesome socks are mine.  The best gift a girl can get is warm feet and I was given three pair of Smartwool socks!  Also, notice the matching plaid pajama pants.  Lewis decided we all needed plaid pjs for Christmas.
Dad made piles of his always amazing cinnamon rolls.  Zachary assisted him in the making.  It was cute.  A good plateful was wrapped up and taken along as we went to visit with Aunt Cheri and Uncle Roger for Christmas evening.  Little Isabelle was a riot with her toddler activities.

I'm happy to report the town tree is still up, and wasn't promptly taken down following the holiday.  As much as I enjoy left turns, I enjoy the tree more and the town looks quite bare without it.

A good time was had by all.

  1. I'm drooling over the cheesecake and cinnamon rolls. They look amazing! Also, I can't believe I've never been to the antique shop. It's going to be at the top of my list when I visit in June for my sister's wedding . . .
