maggie and walter were wed
This past weekend J and I and Despina and Laura drove two thousand miles. We witnessed Maggie and Walter getting married and celebrated with oh so many old friends.
The cake was delicious and beautiful.
The bride and groom in their first dance.
My favorite photo. Maggie and dad waiting for father-daughter dance song to start. Walter and Maggie's mom in the background.
Miss Molly. She was very gracious and let J, me, Laura, des, and Janelle stay at her home for the whole weekend. It was great. I love her.
Favors. There were fans and homemade jam...what more could a person ask for.
We started driving around 11:30pm Thursday and got into Savannah around 4:30pm Friday. That evening many friends and classmates were in town so we met for dinner and drinks.
The wedding Saturday was just off the marsh and waterway on one of the islands. It was quite pretty and very sunny. The bride was beautiful, naturally. Dinner and dancing was delicious and fun, respectively, and at the end of the night we sent the mr. & mrs. off in the cloud of glowing sparklers.
Departure from Savannah was at 6pm Sunday and we rolled into town around 11am. The drive brought torrential downpours through the entire state of South Carolina and 0% visibility through the smokey mountains. Needless to say, we were quite happy to home in the sunny and crisp north.
