weekend update

It was a fabulously drizzly morning as I headed up to Michigan with dear darling bride-to-be Rachel and her sweet sisters Joanna and Julie and mama Aunt May.

I never knew other people trying on dresses could be such a workout.

The big day is next August.

We stumbled upon Marshall, Michigan, where we had lunch.  I hear from my crew at the shop that Marshall was THE place to go eat Sunday dinner once upon a time.  It is a very interesting town that when asked what made it so unique we were given over and over "it's historic".  I don't know about you but that sure isn't a good enough answer so I think another experience in Marshall shall be added to the list of does.

Sunset on the way home was just so gentle.  This evening was one of the same.  As the sun lowers all that is needed is to take it in.  Absorb the wonderful yellow glow for day when it lacks.

Sunday was a sewing Sunday, full of this or that.  There is just something wonderful about hand-stitching.  It comes straight from the soul and is meditative.

And speaking of hand-stitching, here is yet another taste of the big project at hand.  Lovely pillows/pockets of linen bring it one more step towards completion.
