oh, the cleverness of compost

One thing I really love about having a large plot of land at my fingertips and a gardening family is composting.

There are just those few (eco) practices my mother has instigated because they make sense.

Composting is one of them.

Instead of throwing "green" refuse in the garbage it will be collected and used to nurture the plants to come and make for things grow.

This is what starts its journey towards decomposition on our back porch.  Outside the back door is our temporary compost catchall.

After a few months and some turning, it goes on these dear plants to help them grow big and strong and feed the family.

But occasionally this happens.  These would be surprise tomatoes growing in the veggie garden.  They sprouted from a various tomato discarded in the compost.

Also, mystery vine.
Mom is not quite sure what it is but if it is growing from a seed composted odds are the family liked it to begin with.
