The First of Fall.
Okay, yes. I do keep going on about fall, but this is my first fall in four years - and before that I wasn't really paying attention.
This week brought the first gallon of cider. REAL CIDER - unpasteurized. The good stuff. You don't really know cider until you've tasted this stuff. In honor of the moment I did some sketching in the back yard of our own dwarf apple trees that are going to the worms. The apples are full of decay and glorious for it.
And...to top it off this weekend is the Apple Festival in Nappanee. J and I went over the other day and each had an apple from their 25 cent self-serve selection. They were delicious.
