AN FYI (aka I should be unpacking but i'm youtubing).

Hey Jude was written as a song for John Lennon's song Julian. McCartney wrote it for him to help Julian through the divorce of his parents. But Julian didn't figure this out until twenty years later. McCarney thought it was awful the way John's family was suddenly out of the picture when John picked up Yoko and would often visit John's ex and son because they were long time friends. Julian said he spent much more time with McCartney rather than his own father. I guess not all songs are about drugs like we thought. Makes the song a little more cozy anyway. AND there you have it folks - a piece of infinite wisdom spawned from a video on youtube.
