AND FOUR WEEKS LATER...
The first Thursday I was in Lacoste I put together the front of my first-ever quilt. The next Monday I put the back on. And two weeks later I finished all of the hand stitching of the piece. It is about 1 yard square. All the fabrics I purchased in Provence. Most of it I bought last year and really wanted a way to represent that experience and still make it unique to this trip. Hand stitching is not something to be taken lightly and is something that requires hard-core time. I treated this as my sampler and just experimented with different ways of doing things and patterns. Now I present to you my first quilt.
