THE LACOSTE PROJECT.

This weekend we worked on the last bit of our involvement with the Lacoste Project. (My name for it.) Five of us Fiber girls assisted an artist named Maya in creating clouds to hang between the buildings in Lacoste for the summer exhibit. It is going to be a VERY important exhibition for the school - one of their most prostigious. That is huge. Our part was collecting images, compiling drawings and creating designs that where in turn printed on very large pieces of polyester fabric. This we did mid-April. This weekend we reconveined with the artist to paint the images. We used colored India inks wash on designs and color in the figures. It was very abstract and creative. We finished it all early today. Maya will ship the clouds to France and complete them there. They are going to be cut out into shapes and hung between the buildings. We where planning on cutting them out but she decided it would be better to take them as a roll and then decide what shape is best suited for then environment upon arrival. It was really fun to work with Maya and some of the girls from Lacoste. Katie is graduating so I probably won't see her after this term is up - so it was nice to get to work with her. We had a pretty good time and are going to go out tonight being that it is Eliza's birthday and we have wrapped up the project (on our end at least). Down below are some pictures. Hopefully they will send us some photos of the work installed.

A photo of some of the peices layed out. There were tons of them.

Another long veiw of a couple sheets of clouds. There where in total about eight times what you see.
