ALMOST.

I just finished watching this film I completely randomly checked out from the Library today. It is called Watermarks. It is a documentary telling about this womans swim team from Vienna. The women were all part of this Jewish sports club called Hakoah during the thirties. They dominated swimming - one was the champion athlete from Austria she was chosen to represent Austria in the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin. She decided not to go as to refuse Hitler. She was removed from all of Austrias athletics and her records were taken away from her (I think she held 12). When Germany and Hitler invaded Austira the president of the club was the top of the Ghestpo's Most Wanted. He was able to illegally escape to London and through doing so was able to arrange for each one of the swim team members to likewise escape thus saving their lives. The film goes through these womens reunion 65 years later. They are old. One cannot see. But at the end they all get in the water and it was just one of those moments I guess. It was so amazing to see them back in the pool they completed together in and in doing so this sport saved their lives. Aww. That was beautiful.

We are so fortunate.
