a quilt for Whitman Michael

This past January a wonderful little boy joined the Ross family.  Lizzie and Clint, and his big sister Vivian, welcomed Whitman Michael on the 23rd of January.

I chose warm neutrals and stripes to be dominate in his quilt.

All of the quilting was done by hand in yellow thread.  The rows of stitching are horizontal and vertical.

The linen backing has a light stripe in its weave.

The binding has a small, simple print of gardening tools.  This family loves the outdoors and I have a feeling that a love of the earth is in Whit's soul.

His parents snapped this sweet shot for me the other day.  [Thank you!]

Welcome to the world Whitman!  My sincerest congratulations on the wonder this sweet soul has brought to your lives Lizzie and Clint.  I know he is in good hands to grow up strong and sincere.

  1. Oh Sharon, this post brought tears to my eyes, as your writing so often does! Thank you for this quilt. You perfectly captured Whit's personality in it without even having met him. Like Vivian's quilt, it will be forever cherished!
