that northern wind

Tonight, I shared cookies with Whitney, Jason and Dad as we sat huddled under woolen blankets at the varsity football game versus Elkhart Memorial.  It was lovely.  Cold, but the sun set behind the home bleachers and there were big beams of light visible in the sky as the sun sank low.

Once home I made coconut milk hot cocoa (and regular for those who do dairy) and we had a few sips and warmed up a bit.  Dad made a billion cookies of his most famous ginger cookies (don't tell my cousins) to take along when we visit the brothers this weekend.  Sunday is a very big day and we have much to celebrate because Lewis is being baptized!  Hooray!  Sam will be there as well as Josiah.  It will be very nice to be all together and get to celebrate with Lewis in this wonderful spiritual moment.  (It takes me back to my two other favorite baptisms.)

  1. Cookies, wool blanket, hot cocoa, a sunset, and a great family. What more could one ask for? :)
